Rich! Handsome! Tall! Godlike physique! Superior intellect! Infinite altruism! Pedigree bloodline!
Men frequently become overwhelmed and discouraged by the social narrative that is fed to them from early childhood. What a man “should” look like, how a man “should” act, what abilities a man “should” have.
Many grow up with inferiority complexes about never being good enough to attract a woman, let alone be good enough for themselves, or their parents, or their friends.
I’ll give one of my usual disclaimers: We all know that girls and women face immense pressures and unfair standards thrust upon them by modern society. We all know that girls and women compare themselves to highly edited and unrealistic imagery found online, in magazines, on billboards…we all know that everyone faces insecurities.
This article, however, is about men. It’s about the misconceptions that men have about what women are looking for in a partner, and how we should alter the narrative in order to cultivate deeper connections and healthy relationships among us.
Now, don’t get me wrong — if a woman could go to a factory and customize her ideal man, he very well would have the top tier of every quality available — but, so would you.
