Happiness, as we’ve recently discussed, can seem fragile and fleeting. It comes and goes, blowing with the winds of life’s external circumstances, seemingly outside of our control. However — it is largely a product of what we focus on (or don’t), and is therefore very much under our influence.

In this article, we’ll discuss just a few of the negative patterns that show up in the lives of people who struggle with happiness. By reducing or eliminating these habits, we can greatly increase the amount of joy in our lives.

1: Wasting time stressing about things outside of your control.

If this one hits home, that’s because nearly all of us do it until we genuinely understand what a colossal waste of time it really is.

Life is full of things that we can control, but not without a plethora of things that we can’t.

It’s no mystery, and we’re fully aware of things happening that we can’t do anything about…so, why then, do we spend so much time staring at them, worrying about them, feeling anxious…
