7 Big Differences Between Confidence And Arrogance
Confidence is quiet, arrogance is loud.
We all want to be confident. To have the certainty within ourselves to trust our own abilities, to say the things we mean, to live life in alignment with our truest identity…and, to have the courage to define that identity in the first place.
All of this requires confidence. Healthy, conscious, and intentional confidence.
The problem, though, is that we’re not often taught how to be confident during our developmental years. We’re put into molds, told to sit down and be quiet, to listen, to conform, to follow the rules…but not to explore and discover who we really are, or even more importantly, who we want to become.
So, as a result, some people end up sort of just…faking it. Or, having a fundamental misunderstanding of what confidence really is.
They’ll put on an act, a facade, a show that reflects what they think confidence is supposed to look like, and often as a result, they push too far.
Or, they’ll do their best to prove themselves superior to everyone else, and take their place at the top of the mountain, looking down on all of the peasants and plebeians.
Neither of these approaches are what define or project true confidence.
