How you talk to yourself matters. In fact, it matters more than anything else when you’re building (or destroying) your own sense of self-worth.

Your self-talk is your internal narrative that only you truly know about. That’s the weird thing about being you, isn’t it? Nobody REALLY knows every little single thing that you’re saying to yourself about yourself…or, about them.

Effectively, this pretty much means that you’re living in your own reality. One that is quite literally created by the thoughts you choose to give credence to.

Now, of course, not all of your thoughts are intentional. Some seem to randomly pop in and out of your mind without warning — that’s a natural part of the human experience.

If, though, we simply accept these thoughts and feelings at face value, we may be fed a false or damaging narrative about ourselves that, when analyzed further, is something we could actually choose to change.

Let’s, then, discuss some phrases that we can say to ourselves about ourselves (or our reality) that help to build a stronger sense of self-worth, self-esteem, and identity.
