Absolutely true that we need to try harder, and I think many problems would be solved if both people in a relationship understood that we are different from each other, and worked to close the gap between them. Too many (especially these days) want the other person to do 90% of the work while they only do 10%. If we can't meet in the middle, one person will always feel undervalued or misunderstood.
