The Inner Monologue of Loyal Men

Good men never cheat. Here’s what they’re thinking.

Cheating has always been an unfortunate risk of entering into a monogamous relationship. We are putting our full trust and faith in another person to stay loyal to us, and the promises they’ve made to us by entering into this commitment.

Cheating, obviously, is not specific to either gender and studies have shown that men and women generally have different reasons for their infidelity.

Inevitably, when writing an article like this, there’ll be people who feel the need to comment that “women cheat, too!”

We know that. Everyone knows that. But, I am not a woman, so I cannot speak to their internal thoughts that either prevent or cause cheating.

As a man, though, I can attest to the thoughts that we (at least, I…) have that ensure infidelity isn’t even part of my reality.

Below are some thoughts that I believe good men consciously or subconsciously think that keep them loyal and committed to the woman they love.

You’ll notice that I’ll express these thoughts in no uncertain terms, because I personally believe there is no excuse for cheating. A lot of people like to argue this point, positing that perhaps needs aren’t being met, or the relationship is…
