A Pandemic Love Story: We Got Engaged!

I don’t use Medium, or really any other blog, as a platform for personal news or updates, but I figured as the #1 ranked love, relationship, and dating writer on the platform…if there was ever a reason to break protocol, this would be it.

We’re engaged!

I am also writing this story in hopes that it’ll give you hope for your love life.

I’m publishing this post on the two-year anniversary of when Rachel and I first spoke. Since it was in the very beginning of the pandemic, we’ve been using this date as our standing anniversary. Until, of course, October 1st will take over. Our wedding date.

At the start of the pandemic, Rachel was running a 14,000 square foot indoor playground, and I was traveling often for speaking engagements. Needless to say, both of those industries were heavily impacted by local and global shutdowns.

This, then, sparked conversation between us. We’d been Facebook friends for over 10 years, but never really spoke.
